Project Overview

Multi-site watermain upgrade program for the City of Pitt Meadows, replacing aging infrastructure across several roadways. Work included new PVC C900 DR18 and Ductile Iron watermain, service connection transfers, hydrant assemblies, and full surface restoration, delivered through active residential neighbourhoods with traffic and access maintained throughout.

Richco was awarded the City of Pitt Meadows 2026 Capital Works – Utilities contract, a multi-site watermain replacement program spanning several roadways across the municipality. The work involved installation of new PVC C900 DR18 and Ductile Iron watermain, complete with valves, fittings, hydrant assemblies, and full service connection transfers, alongside associated roadworks restoration including cold milling and hot-mix asphalt paving.

Much of the work was carried out in active neighbourhood corridors, including areas around schools, where maintaining safe pedestrian and vehicle access was a constant priority. Crews coordinated closely with residents and the City to keep driveways, walkways, and travelled lanes functional throughout construction.

Material selection varied by site, with Ductile Iron specified in locations of minimal cover, reflecting the technical coordination required across differing site conditions.

The project reflects Richco's core strengths: underground utility construction delivered with senior oversight, careful coordination with residents and the municipality, and the right method for each site condition.
